I was wondering how would I go about setting up a server with win2k adv serv to where my workstations would need to logon to the server to use any data off of it and still access the internet. I'm assuming internet-->server--> workstations, or could i throw in a router. If I would throw in a router for DHCP then how can i get the workstations to log onto the servers domain. I need help

You need to do some serious reading on the features and capabilities of Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
First off, if it's a server and you put two NIC's in it (ie, one for the Internet and one for the LAN) it will become a router. Second, ICS is an inferior product, if you're going to use 2000 AS, by all means use RRAS with NAT enabled to allow your clients access to the internet. Third, 2000 AS has the DHCP service built into it. However, if you enable RRAS/NAT, you can use the DHCP service built into that to issue IP info to clients instead of enabling the main DHCP service on the server.
If you set up an Active Directory domain, clients will be required to log onto the domain using a valid username and password to access network resources.
