Hi,
I was wondering. is it possible to make a work group and use the user right of the server users? this without active directory?
Now I have access but users cannot share workstations I need to make the user also on the local workstation. Is there a work arround or a tool available?
Thank you

"use the user right of the server users". No clue what that means.. You want a security group? Can you explain exactly?
You have access to what?
Anna, you really need to explain what it is you're working with and what you're trying to do.
In my wildest guess I would say you're attempting to create local accounts and share access, but I may be WAY off base. here.

Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for the responce.
I ll try to explain what I mean.
I need a situation where I install a workgroup with the look of a domain situation.
I need to make the installation in a small office and an active directory will generate to much overhead for those people.
I still would like the users to share workstations. In the workgroup situation I need tomake theusers also local on every workstation and that is what I try to avoid.
Hopefully my explanation clears thing up
Thank you

I don't know what you mean by you want your Workgroup to look like a Domain. Either you're running a Domain with AD, or your not.
If you're not running a Domain, then you have no choice but to create local accounts for the users. After creating the accounts, login as Administrator and create your Share folders, then set file and share permissions. If you're running a file server, then you can put all the shared folder on that one machine, and users will access that server, and not each other's workstations.
Life is more painless for those who are brainless.
