hello, i would like to know how to network 2 computers, using 2 56k modems. My desktop is running windows 2000 pro and my laptop is running windows 98se. I would like to know if it's posible to connect my laptop to my desktop and share the internet connection using the 56k modems... thanks
The only info I have found is quite old but may be worth a punt: http://www.jagshouse.com/modem.html though this works as a peer to peer connection, how you also use the modem to dial is beyond me.
It may be better to use a null modem serial cable between PC and Laptop and software from from http://www.lpt.com/Products/TheFastCable/thefastcable.htm to direct the internet connection.
Or look at www.wown.com for other networking ideas
