Hi, I'm trying to set up LPT1 in EPP mode on my Win2000 PC. I'm interfacing with a DSP motherboard, and I have managed to get this working on an NT machine by simply setting the BIOS to EPP 378H. I've made the same BIOS alterations to my Win2000 machine, but I'm having trouble configuring the Device Manager. Under "Ports (COM and LPT)" in the Device Manager, I have - Communications Port (Com1) ECP Printer Port (LPT2) Shouldn't there be a - EPP Printer Port (LPT1)? I cant use my DSP board on my Win2000 machine, so something is wrong somewhere. Would a driver be hogging this port? What should I do? Thanks for your help, Barry.

When I attempted to change lpt2 to lpt1, I go a warning saying that lpt1 was already in use. I then went into the BIOS and turned of the LPT port. I logged on again and went into the device manager and lpt2 was gone from the ports - still no sign of lpt1. I then went back into the bios and set the port up again - epp. I then went into the devivce manage and Lpt2 ECP had reappeared under ports. I then went into the properties and was a ble to change LPT2 to LPT1 without a warning this time. This Port is still desribed as ECP though, and I'm still not able to interface to my dsp board.
