Shortly after windows 2000 pro starts the following services stop on their own:

server
computer browser
print spooler

I know these services are linked and provide networking functions for windows. They are set to run automatically and do start upon boot. The network functions work as well. Trouble is they decide.

Restarting them brings everything back up for a short time (1 minute) then they stop again. Zone Alarm is the likely culprit but it has been uninstalled.

Any ideas??

Chris

Is your RPC and Workstation running btw ?
maybe some service that these services depend on isn't running.. and they crash.

try them manual, then start them by hand and see what happens...

what do you get in your even viewer when they stop ?

ahhh. maybe somehow you have policies to stop these and the policy takes effect every x minutes ??

I can't remember if in system policies you could stop a service
