Subject: Service Pack 2 Installation Problem

Comment: I've been trying to install Service Pack 2 on Win2k Pro, and shortly after the installation program starts copying files, I get an error message saying "setup could not copy the file (file name varies)" and I get options to retry, or skip the file. I end up skipping the file and cancelling the Service Pack installation. This is similar to the problem dealing with Windows NT installation and bad RAM resulting in some files not being copied properly, but I have since fixed that problem and installed some Crucial RAM, and Win2k installed without problems. I have also closed all open programs, and disabled Anti-virus software, and nothing works. Could the actual Service Pack file be corrupt? Or should I check my RAM again? Thanks

Reply: (edit)If I were you, I would re-download the entire 101mb service pack 2. It is absolutely possible that it may be corrupt. Besides, it is cheaper to DL than to purchase RAM, although RAM is very cheap these days. Good Luck!
