Hi,

I have been getting the following error when I view my websites hosted on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server with SP3. I was not able to decipher where the problem lies. When I open the Internet Services Manager, I get a message that IIS cannot connect to the computer. Somehow IIS was shutting down all
the sites and disconnecting from the local machine. However, when I restarted the machine, it seems to work fine. Can anyone suggest the possible reasons why this happens. I am enclosing the error messages I got in my Application log.

I got the W32.Blaster.Worm removal tool from Norton's website (www.norton.com) and it cured my woes on this issue. (This is also known as the W32.Lovsan.Worm.)

Hope that helps!

I have seen this error at two different clients.

One has Norton Corp. up to date and got this on a 2000 server, SP4.

Second is XP Pro w/s, running VirusScan 4.5.1. Error is the same, neither one shows the Blaster worm if I scan with Symantec's virus removal tool. Anyone else have these issues.

I have exact the same error on a windows 2000 server. I am not able to view any properties in any area of the server, neither network, event logs, device manager, ... I allready checked the system with Norton.
