Reply: (edit)The obvious: the two lines you posted and a bunch more like them. The not so obvious: what's wrong with: ping 192.168.0.2 -t ping 192.168.0.3 -t ===================================== If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.M2

Reply: (edit)My question is why are you finding it necessary to ping test multiple PC's 10 times a day? If you're having network connectivity issues, it would make more sense to resolve the issue than to flood the network with ping tests.

Reply: (edit)Mechanix2Go answered your question. I'm a network technician by trade. That's why I asked you what I did. What you're doing and want to do makes no sense. If you're having connectivity issues you need to resolve them and pinging all PC's 10 times a day from now until forever isn't troubleshooting the problem and it isn't fixing it. Perhaps if you told us what the problem is and why you think mass pinging your network is a necessary, we could help you fix the problem. This would be a lot smarter in the long run than your mass pinging solution.

Reply: (edit)But u ppl have wasted 3 days thats y i was asking that weather u know about this script or not so kindly if u know inform me and if u dont that do notcall your self network technician First off, you came here looking for help. We didn't come to you. Second, I am a network technician and as such, I would fix the problem not create more instead as you are doing. A batchfile that mass pings all clients on your network is not a solution. It's not even a temporary work-around....it's just flooding your network needlessly. Third, the above post is the second time Mechanix2Go has posted the solution for you. Apparently you aren't intelligent enough to see that......ergo.........YOU have wasted time, not me, certainly not Mechanix who gave you what you needed on the 19th.

Reply: (edit)LOL - thanks. Both Mechanix and I have tried to help him. I know Mechanix is THE man to talk to about any batchfiling needs you have....I've asked him for help with them myself. His reply made perfect sense to me. I suspect a big part of the problem is that the original poster's first language isn't English. I've also noticed over time he's posted a lot of questions so I suspect his technological level isn't very high. I try to be polite...I am Canadian after all! ;) But even my patience wears thin after trying to help someone and then being insulted. What I don't understand is, why you wouldn't want to fix the problem??? That's why I asked what trouble he was having and offered to attempt to help resolve the issue. All the mass pinging is going to do is create another problem. All I can say is, I sure hope they're using switches where he works and not hubs.......can you say "broadcast storm".

Reply: (edit)He won't be able to tell you the problem because there isn't a real one. Search his posts. He's a student in Pakistan and is trying to get help with his homework. Larry Today seems like a good day to chew through the restraints.

Reply: (edit)Not only is the MAGNAping script not going to fix the problem, if you use the -t option it will hang at the first problem child. ===================================== If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.M2

Reply: (edit)Sorry if I was wrong. Remember then that Windows 2000 only supports 10 simultaneous users. That may be the reason you're having one knock another one off the network. Larry Today seems like a good day to chew through the restraints.
