Does this user log on with a password? In Windows XP, task manager won't work unless you have a password. I can't remember if Win2K is this way as well.

The following link is regarding the same error on XP but may apply to 2000 as well. It's worth checking out.

1. Make sure you specify username/password
2. Make sure you are using same account as what you logged in as. For example if you have logged in using Domain account, and if you use local account for scheduling it will not work. In this case use domain account to schedule.
3. If it still doesn't work, in scheduled task look at the error message. For certain types of error it says exactly what the problem is.
