I just installed Windows 2000 Pro. I went to do a scandisk from System Tools as I did with ME and 98. It isnt there ????? What is the easiest way to do a scan disk and automatically fix errors ? Thanks guys .

or just type this:
CHKDSK X: /F /R
at the command prompt or the run command, where X is the drive letter.

What do /F and /R do. It seems to take checkdisk a lot longer with these variables.

at the command prompt type this: chkdsk x: /?
you'll see your options

If you're dual booting, you can do it from win98 or winme, if you're running win2k only or you want to do it from win2k do what Joe said it should run chkdsk on the next boot.
Summary: Does anybody out there know how to close all running programs from the run command? I have no programs running or any anti-virus software running but when I try to do a simple scan disk it won't work....
