Has anyone else had a problem with devldr32.exe constantly (everytime you start a program/install) coming up with a referenced memory error and hanging the machine for about a couple minutes? This has been driving me nuts since I installed Win2K and LiveWare 3.0 for 2K. devldr32.exe is creative labs CD driver and I called them and they said it had something to do with the fact that I have a DVD CD Rom, but I didn't get this issue with NT 4.0, and had the same hardware. Has anyone else out there had this issue and if so, does anyone have a resolution? I called Create Labs support and they just blamed the DVD.

specifically what they said it was was that their devldr32.exe will automatically try to make the CD drive do something that is in conflict with what the DVD drive will automatically do when you insert a CD. So I went into the registry and turned off auto play which didn't fix it. Also, if I am in Office 2000 or Visual Studio the first time I click on any menu item the error will pop up. Anytime I start a setup.exe built from a pre Windows Installer install will cause it to happen, and starting almost anything that uses DirectX causes the problem. Another thing of note is that the behavior while not going away entirely has behaved differently (slightly less often) once I moved to DirectX 8. I think that is everything I can tell you about my issue. I am wondering if there is anyway to turn off the DVD's "automatic whatever it does" thing somewhere in the registry so that it won't conflict with devldr32. ALso, I CAN rename the devldr32.exe to devldr32.old, reboot, which will cause ahq to not load, the sound card will work, I will not get the problem, but I only get sound out of 2 speakers instead of 4.

This is a bad SBlive install (They have had a ton of BAD install CDs). Download the newest drivers from Creative. Go to Add Remove Programs, remove all instances of SBlive stuff and re-install your live card drivers from your new download.
I've seen this devldr32.exe many times.
Good Luck
