Comment: We have a Satellite installed which works ok for a single user. We want to use Internet Connection Sharing over our network. i've tried to set it up and failed to get access for anyother user on the network. 2 Nics are installed on the ICS Host; sharing is enabled on the NIC connected to the internet. i suspect that it is because Proxy Server settings are needed but i wouldn't want to rule out anything. i don't want to use other software/hardware because i think it is just a further unnecessary complication. ideally i would like very detailed instructions from someone who has actually achieved this type of installation because there is much conflicting 'advice' on the web. i would be eternally grateful! replies to my email address (peter.cannon@381.co.uk) if that is possible, please.

Reply: (edit)Divim, Many thanks for your kind reply. Unfortunately your link appears to be for non-satellite installations. apparantly there is a big difference between the 2 so i need to hear from anybody who has had specific satellite ADSL installation experience. any ideas?

Reply: (edit)On the systems that are going to share the internet, start IE. Go to "Tools", "Internet Options, "Connections" tab, "Setup", the setup wizard will start. Click the option to connect through your LAN. Then click "I connect through a Local Area Network". I am not sure what screen is next, but let it automatically detect your proxy server settings. That should do it. I am running Win2K with IE 6 on four systems. One of which is connected to the satellite. Instead of using two NIC's, I have the satellite router connected to a USB port. I use a switch to network all of the computers. I hope this helps you out.
