What's this program called "runservices.exe" in the C:\WINDOWS\ directory it's 3Kb. Is it some sort of virus? it's in the RunServices regkey.

Yup. There is a good chance that it is a virus. Specically the Trojan/BO.A virus does what you describe. It sound like you already knew with though. If you don't have anti-virus software installed, you may want to consider it.

do a clean install before loading virus software. always safer, ensures no trojans left sitting there.
