Run dialog box freezes

Hey all, I installed Win2k a month or two ago and it worked fine. But now it freezes when I go to run from the start menu or start word or internet explorer. It works again if I make a new user profile and log in with that but the problem restarts after I reboot. Could someone plz help? My comps details are as follows:
Dell Dimension L667r Pentium 3 667mhz 192MB SDRAM 15GB HDD Win2k Pro SP3 Integrated video SB Vibra 128 sound card
BTW, when I installed it, i did a clean install but it did not format my hd. it converted it to NTFS and I deleted my old Windows ME system folder (installed 2k in a different folder). Might that have anything to do with it?

I checked my event log...
DCOM got error "The executable program that this service is configured to run in does not implement the service. " attempting to start the service EventSystem with arguments "" in order to run the server: {1BE1F766-5536-11D1-B726-00C04FB926AF}
That error comes up about 1000 times (seriously) i also have zonealarm installed if dat makes a difference. I heard it f***s things up pretty bad
