RTL8139, stops working after a while

I have a Realtek RTL8192(A) PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter installed. Everything seems to go fine and then after a seemingly random amount of time /data transfer it stops working. The only way to get it working again is to restart windows. It seems that this is a common problem, atleast in the Unix / Linux sections, where hacks and fixes are available. I haven't seen any solution for the problem on Win2000 though.. I'm pretty sure I have the latest drivers but if someone have a link to the latest I would be greatful. This is very annoying since it's impossible to make a large download without constantly monitoring the tranfer and rebooting the system.

Hey the only thing that u should do is just change the transfer speed in the adapters or the lan cards property window there u will see a link speed and it would be set to automode just change this link speed to 10 Half mode and ur card will start working fine and again in the future if u have the same problem then again change the link speed to automode. Here u would seem to ask a question that if automode at present is not working fine then why would it work fine in the future and the answer to this question is that the problem u r facing is a typical illogical hardware problem where u have no reason for the problem but still its coming, u have the latest drivers, the card is working fine, ur network is working fine but still u have the problem , so u dont have any theoritical solution to this problem the only solution is what i told u and believe me here at the place where i am working as a network engineer and i am maintaining a network of more than 60 computers this problem is very regular and the solution which i gave u really works and the lan card throughout all the computers is the same which u have that is RTL8139, so I hope this would solve ur problem. and if u need more help just mail me.
