I have a 56K Rockwell HCF PCI modem and I keep getting a problem in windows 2000 (ie: Error 680: no dialtone) It works fine in windows 95/98. I know others have complained about this problem here and on other forums. Anyone find a resolution yet to this problem? I tried changing it to a standard 56K modem and initialization strings, and nothing seems to work!!

I am using an HCF 56K PCI rockwell chipset modem....W2K found it with no problems...best modem I have ever used...fastest too. You should not need any driver...W2K has support for at least mine.

Win2k should detect it no problem, I would suggest putting it in a different slot. Also, don't install any drivers for your modem since Win2k has the most recent drivers for the HCF modems.

I have Rockwell HCF 56 PCI modem, when i use under win95/98, the speed is 115,000 bps, but when i install win2k, the speed is 26.4 pbs, did anybody know what is the problems is that?

On Microsofts Windows 2000 Systems Developers Site there is a download, NTDDK, this is for developing digitally signed modem drivers for Win 2K. In download is a driver which will make Rockwell HCF 56K modem work in Win 2K. Must access from Network and Dial Up Connections. Won't work from Internet Explorer. Start Menu to Settings then to Network and Dial Up Connections. This is the only way I could get it to work in Win 2K.

There are drivers for all Rockwell modems at www.wellmodem.com.tw, it includes also windows 2k drivers

I Really really need the windows me/2000 driver for a Rockwell HCF 56k Voice PCI Modem. I just installed Windows Me(millenium edition) and I had to uninstall it because i couldn't go on-line to find a new driver. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!
