On April 14, 2002 Vance helped a guy who was having problem unjoining his w2k machine from domain. He asked him to delete the HKLM\SECURITY\Policy\Secrets\$MACHINE.ACC registry key and it worked for him. I am having the exact same problem but in my registry I don't have this key. I only have uptil HKLM\Security and I can't seem to delete this key. I tried deleting it thru regedit and regedt32 both ways. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Your help would be highly appreciated. I'm not a NT/Win2K administrator, but I guess the domain admin is an account that has some sort of rights to the whole domain. If so, I don't have this uid/password. Delete the HKLM\SECURITY\Policy\Secrets\$MACHINE.ACC registry key. Use Regedt32, change the permissions to be able to view it. Now unjoin the domain and rejoin it.
