Comment:

Somehow I lost half of my hard drive when I performsed a combination oF "fdisk" and "format disk". Original configuration of hard drive was partitioned into two equal partititons. I want to return to a single partition. I do not have a need to save any data current data on the hard drive. I want to start from scratch installing the basic WIN 98 operating system. HELP, puh-leeze!!!!!!

so was it 98 or 2000? if it was 98 then just boot the os cd...if it was 2000 and in FAT, boot from 98 cd (boot disk too obviously), if it was 2000 in NTFS - insert 2000 cd, go through setup and choose to use FAT, then when formatting stops, exit setup, boot pc with 98 boot disk and cd.

Bob: There is a good program (PARTITION MAGIC) to re-size partition previusly defined (fat32,ntfs etc)
you can shrink or expand the partition to fullfill your needs.

good luck
