Comment:

I've recently moved away from where I had cable broadband, and find myself having to resort to dialup again. I was using a Motorola SurfBoard 4200. I neglectled to uninstall the cable modem before I turned it in to Charter. Now when I boot up I get the following message:

WARNING
ERROR
Resource Conflict- PCI in slot 01
Bus: 01, Device:0E, Function:00

And I can't use the modem Conexant Soft56k Data Fax on Com 3 IRQ9. If I try to query the modem, my system freezes.

I'm a graphic designer, not a techie. I have no idea what to do about this. Please help? Thanks in advance!

Thanks, but there is only my Conexant Soft56K listed under that hardware wizard. Desperation approaches, should I reload win2k?

Remove the conexant modem restart windows and it should see your modem. Reinstall it and you should be ok.
