reparing corrupted files

When I boot under win 2000, it says that I have a corrupted file and that I should try to repair the file pressing "r" at the first screen... what first screen? I pressed "r" at each different screen during bootup but it did not work... anyone knows how to do this

It is referring to the Repair Process that can be accessed by using the W2K set up disks (the four boot floppies used for install when your PC won't boot from the CD ROM drive)
Using either the boot floppies or by booting from the W2K CD. You will eventually be asked if you wish to Repair an existing installation (Press R) or go through a clean install, etc. It is here that you would try the Repair process.
The W2K repair process may or may not find and be able to correct the problem...but it's something to try.
Summary: I would really appreciate, If someone could give me a copy a this file "winscl.exe". My WINS service in my W2K server won't work because of this corrupted file. Thank you for anybody who will response...
