Can anyone describe to me the process of repairing a broken power connector on a Compaq presario Laptop? Is it just a simple soldering job? Where can I find parts? Is there any other method of charging the laptop battery other than the AC adapter? Your help will be appreciated.

depends on how it was broken, if you dropped it and the connections were cevered a simple solderjob would do the trick, not enough info

Had a few Comslacks with the same problem, required a service center to replace parts. It was not chargeing the battery, same prob, right?
Throw it away and get an IBM, thats what we did, of course the company paid for it.
