Is there a way to repair windows 2000 Fax service? I was able to make it visible under add/remove windows components by editings c:\winnt\inf\sysoc.inf but I can't uncheck it in order to uninstall it.
any ideas?

I just took a quik look and the problem is that the fax service is embedded in winnt\servicepackfiles\i386 folder
I have a program called dependency walker and it show all the .dll files that make the fax service work. They appear to be shared DLLs and you don't want to delete them.
You maybe able to do a windows repair w/ the installation CD although I've never had much success w/ that.
What error message are you getting w/ it and what corrupted it in the first place?
