I have tv media adware on a user's pc, I ran spybot, hijack this and did the recommended fixes to get rid of it. However there is still a folder in C:\program files\tv media, when I try to delete it, it says access denied, file may be in use. I checked the processes and services and don't find anything that stands out. I also tried deleting it in safe mode. No luck...any suggestions?

Just had a battle with that nasty peice of work today on a Windows 2000 pc. In the end I had to kill the explorer.exe process as these files seemed to be hooked up with that.

Once explorer was killed (the start button and taskbar will disappear) I opened Taskmanager (ctrl+Alt+Del), Click New Task and typed in CMD and click OK.

In the Command Prompt, navigate to c:\Program Files\TV Media and type del *.* while in the folder. This should now clear the files.

Once deleted, in taskmanager Click New Task and type explorer and click OK.

There is probably a much easier way, but after 30 minutes of frustration with this, I decided to be brutish about it.

Incase you havent gotten it off yet. I had the TV Media adware too. When id try to delete it from C:\Program Files\TV Media It said Access denied this file is in use by another person or program. So I was finally was able to delete it when i did this.
1.) Go to Run in the Start Menu
2.) Click Browse
3.) On the left click on My Computer
4.) Then click the icon for the C drive (C:)
5.) Once you are in the C drive get into Program Files
6.) Then Find the TV Media Folder and push delete
7.) Then delete it from your recycle bin.

If it dont let you delete the folder, open the folder and delete them file by file then delete the folder. This is what worked for me. Hope it works for you.

I had the TV media adware... was annoying as all Hell, it kept showing me ad's whenever i was trying to play a game.... and i couldnt figure out how to get rid of it, so i downloaded AD-aware 6 which is a adware removing program! it is very good and free to. But even that couldnt remove the pesky little bugger, so in the end i brought up task manager and ended explorer.exe . then i ran ad-aware from the run new program box and scanned again, it found the TV media files and succesfully removed them that time. and now it has been removed from my system.

I would highly recomend Ad-aware 6, to download it go to
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

you wont regret it trust me.
