Removing partial install from boot

I have a system with 2 copies of Win2k already installed. Then I made the mistake of using Windows Setup to format some unpartitioned space on my hard drive--forgetting that once the format was complete it would launch immediately into the installation without giving me a chance to stop it. So now I have, in addition to 2 purposeful Win2k installs, a partial installation I have no use for. Is there any way I can remove that partial installation, or at the very least remove the unwanted third "Microsoft Windows 2000" from the boot menu?

Don't forget to open properties of boot.ini and remove the "read only" before making any changes. Then restore "read only" after you save the new boot.ini file.

Boot to one of the preferred/working W2K versions; set it as default OS to boot; then locate/delete the incomplete version's folder from its location (via W2K Explorer). Afterwards edit out reference to it in the boot.ini
Reboot (to each preferred/good version in turn) to verify "both" good/preferred W2K installations will still boot OK. Presuming so empty recycle-bin (on the version that deleted the incomplete installation - perhaps on both versions); defrag the drive/partition(s) afterwards. Renwew the ERD for each version - just be current/safe etc. with regard to both versions.
