I had a member server on my network that served as a DC for redundency reasons. It caught fire and was destroyed. Say I want to remove it alltogether from my AD, what would be the best way of doing so?

Open AD Users and Computers and then go into the Domain Controllers OU and delete it.

Curt, I don't think it will allow you to do that. Once it is a domain controller it will want to be demoted in order to be removed from AD. If the machine 'catches fire' then it obviously won't be able to be demoted gracefully and will need to be manually removed from AD using ntdsutil.
Pete, look for instructions here on the step by step procedure.

LOL....it was 1 am and I was getting tired....I completely forgot that in the case of not being able to demote first, you could use the ntdsutil to remove a defunct DC from AD.
I'm glad you pointed that out, I hate the thought of stearing someone wrong, thanks Glen!
