i'm trying to remove some background images from the windows display properties that were apparently associated by a screen saver i used. i have since removed the screen saver, but now the images show up as backgrounds. the images are located in the 'my pictures' folder (not the winnt folder where the other bmp/jpg background files are). i've tried moving all the images from the 'my pictures' folder into a new folder and rechecked the display properties to make sure they're removed from the list, but when i return the images to 'my pictures' the display properties show them again. is there any way to control the background listing using the windows registry? or is there another way to handle this? thanks.

Since Windows ME, Microsoft have included the "My Pictures" folder with there OS's. Windows is set up from the regestry to look in the "My Pictures" folder and the "C:\WINNT" for images. If you want to change it, you'll have to find the correct entry in the regestry and change it. I can't help you with where it is right now as I'm not at my comp but on a eMAC worksation.

Sorry, I meant "registry".
If you want to open it, click on Start -> Run and type in "regedit" without quoters.
