at startup win2000 does'nt load properly i wish i could just rid myself of win2000. ive even tryed a different hard drive, how do i kill off win2000???? also in bois i cant get it to read the new harddrive properly , cd and floppy run, but it just says insert correct cd, id like to just go back to win98 on this pc. thanks in advance!! jeff, im wondering about the motherboard

All you have to do is fdisk it, this will completely wipeout everything off your HDD making it unformatted with no O/S. If you have a Win98 Boot Floppy you can set your computer to boot from floppy and insert your disk. Let windows go into setup, this will be in DOS mode. Then choose the option that has the cd rom support. Once everything finishes loading, A:\> will show up on your screen. When you get here type in fdisk, the command will look like this A:\>fdisk. Hit enter, this will take you into the fdisk utility. From there follow the on screen instructions. Choose the option that says to delete partitions. I think it is the third option, then choose the partition hit enter and press Y to confirm that you want to delete it. This will get rid of Windows 2000 completely from your HDD and everything else that is on there so you may want to save everything that you want on some CDs or something. Now you can put 98 back on. crap, now i get invalid disk and with the boot disk i get i/o error, the boot disk i have is a universal boot disk, anything i can set in the bios setup, thats all i can get to. jeff
