Comment: Is there anyway to remove Office 2000 w/o the CD? I purchased a used PC, and would like to remove office, but cannot do it w/o the CD. Any suggestions?? Many thanks!

Reply: (edit)be logged in as administrator then, just go to start>settings>control panel>add/remove programs then select whatever programs you want to remove, and read stuff and click stuff. It's safest to reboot between each program removal. bingo.

Reply: (edit)I think Office has a setup program somewhere on your harddive. Execute it and choose Remove. Using Add/Remove programs might accomplish the same.

Reply: (edit)Unfortunately, you'll need the CD to do a complete and proper uninstall. If you really want it gone, get the CD from the previous owner. Or, to do it the manual way, delete the Microsoft Office folder. Then go to the Registry and do the same. It won't be a complete removal, of course. Why not just leave it on the machine and use it? :) 'Course, you could always reformat and reinstall. That would take care of it.

Reply: (edit)I encountered the same problem. 1) Try this utility Microsoft offers called eraser2k located here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=http://download.microsoft.com/download/office2000pro/Update/3.1/WIN98Me/EN-US/eraser2k.exe If that don't work try installing Office XP and choose the upgrade option.. This will uninstall all previous versions... then simply uninstall Office XP -- Mike
