Comment:

People have been trying to hack into my ftp server. When this occurs my system event log fills up with Event ID: 100 (Source: MSFTPSVC). I always check for hacks through the log files. Is there a way to prevent these events from going into the system event log. I have searched, but could not find where it is specified to report this. Please help.

Thanks,

Michael

Go into the Properties of the log and uncheck whichever options you don't wish to log.

This would remove the event from the log file. I would like to remove the event from the event log only and leave it in the FTP Log file.

So you can't set auditing in the FTP program? It relies on the Event Log?

I am using Internet Services Manager. The only option you really have is to edit logging properties, unless I am missing something.
