Hi, I am trying to find out information about remote access to a Windows 2000 domain. I am not by any means an expert on routing or remote access. I am currently supporting a local area network of about 40 systems that connects to a Windows 2000 PDC. Recently somebody was inquiring about being able to login remotely to the network from various locations. Is it possible to securely use some sort of RADIUS setup through windows 2000 server for dial-up access or should I do it through a VPN connection through the router? Besides the Server and the workstations, the network is also connected to the internet by a Watchguard Firebox II and a Cisco 1700 Router.
The questions I am trying to answer are:
The types of remote logon options available for Windows 2000.
The type of infrastructure required.
And the efficiency of the systems.
I am also trying to avoid using Terminal Services or PC-Anywhere because they are not very efficient connections.
Thanks for your help,
-Jim

Hi Jim
I know you are not so satisfied with terminal services but why don't you use remote desktop connections .they are quite easy to configure also
or you could use remote assistance in Windows Messenger
or VPN(which is a bit tough)
