Hey everyone:
I have W2K Server running with DHCP, DNS, Domain Controller, Active Directory, RIS (remote installation services), and Terminal Server.

After installing RIS and running risetup to configure the RIS everything went smoothly except for one error:

Error 1062: Single Instance Store Groveler
could not be started

Every time I boot the computer I get a system error saying that the SIS service wouldn't start.

When I try to manually start the service it gives me an error.

Any Ideas are welcome

I'm fairly sure I've seen this before. Your firewall may be blocking access to 127.0.0.1 which is required by the groveler service. It is also required for the tftp daemon to run properly I think.

I am also having this exact same issue with RIS and the SIS Groveler service not starting.

I did not quite understand Tom's response and why the loopback address would be blocked by firewall.

I hope someone can help out, as RIS is not functioning correctly. Thanks!
