I have windows 2000 installed, and I want to do remote desktop with a computer with windows XP home edition. How do I control the computer with XP home? Because as far as I can tell, one computer has to have XP Pro? I'm confused. How do I do it?

You cannot use remote desktop to connect to an XP Home PC, only 2k or XP Pro.

Right words, wrong order.

You can connect to an XP Home or Pro computer with remote desktop. Windows 2000 professional does not have remote desktop. The next best thing is probably NetMeeting.

I was wrong about 2K, but you can't use RDP to connect to XP Home. The option is not there in Computer Properties.

The closest thing to it in XP Home is remote assistance.

...which uses RDP ;)

He can control the remote desktop with remote assistance, so no point arguing semantics.
