Dear all, I have a W2k Professional connected to Internet at home, and my wife is using it for work. Sometimes she has some administrative or infections problems, and she calls me to my office to get my help.

At my office I have Internet, so it's a good idea to install a server-client software at both ends in order to gain remote control of her screen and so to assist her easily.

I know VNC is a good tool, but the free edition doesn't support encription...I ask you: what tool do you reccomend me in order to administer my wife's W2K in a secure way ??? I say, using encription and no plain text, and at both ends I have Windows OS.

Thanks a lot !!!

If you and your wife are employed by the same company, which I'm assuming by your post, then the IT department would be responsible for maintaining her machine. If that's the case, they probably have a VPN or some other authenication program she uses to access network resources at your company.

I believe Tight VNC (free) does have encryption built in, but you should consider the point Jennifer made before doing anything.
