I downloaded Eastman trial version 2.6 Imaging. Trial period is over and I want my old free version back?? How do I re-install Kodak/Eastman Imaging from OEM W2k CD????
I can't say for sure, but I can share a story. The only way I so far have seen to get back a "Trial Version" of anything, is to set your PC's calendar back a week or 2 or whatever, depending on the case. I've done this personally with a few programs, and it worked just fine. 28th or 29th day of a 30 day trial, and I'd set my calendar back 3 weeks. However, I've never tried it after the trial had ended, so I can't say if it works after the trial has ended. I don't know if that applies to CD versions of anything though. Someone will have an answer for your question I'm sure :)

I really appreciate your response...But what has happened is that the trial version of Windows Imaging has desroyed my free version that comes with Windows 2000.. I know that with winME for instance a person can go into your control panel, Add/Remove Programs, Windows Setup, Accessories, then unmark imaging, boot remark imaging and windows will re-install the program.... How can you do it in windows 2000?? Maybe a way to extract the cab files or ? directly from the Windows 2000 cd. I know I am getting real frustrated and appreciate any and all suggestions.
Be patient Scott :) I know how frustrating it can be sometimes. Soon enough, a local brainiac will come here and offer you a solution :) Hang in there...

Better Image Viewing in WinME/XP Put together by John Hunter Not only has the Kodak imaging application (for viewing/editing .tif - i.e. fax files) disappeared in Windows ME but also from XP, having been replaced by MS's own pretty, but non-functional viewer (it can't properly view 200x100 resolution faxes). I managed to add the original W95 and W2k Kodak image editor into XP using the following procedure. John Hunter 1. Make a new subdirectory in 'Programs' called 'Imaging' 2a. for W9x - Copy into your new subdirectory 'KODAKIMG.EXE' from the \Windows directory and the following files from \Windows\System: OIUI400.DLL OITWA400.DLL OIPRT400.DLL OISLB400.DLL OISSQ400.DLL OIADM400.DLL OICOM400.DLL OIDIS400.DLL OIFIL400.DLL OIGFS400.DLL IMGCMN.DLL IMGEDIT.OCX IMGSCAN.OCX IMGSHL.DLL IMGTHUMB.OCX IMGADMIN.OCX IMGOCXD.HLP 2b. for W2k - Copy into your new subdirectory 'Kodakimg.exe' from \Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories\ImageVue and the following files from \Windows\System32: OCKODAK.DLL OIENG400.DLL OIPRT400.DLL OISLB400.DLL OISSQ400.DLL OITWA400.DLL OIUI400.DLL IMGCMN.DLL IMGADMIN.OCX IMGEDIT.OCX IMGSCAN.OCX IMGTHUMB.OCX 3. Register the OCX files in the system. If you have installed XP Powertoys do this by right-clicking the new 'Imaging' subdirectory IN THE LEFT PANE of Explorer. Click 'Open Command Window Here'. If not, then in Start/Run, type 'cmd' and navigate to the new imaging sub-directory. At the prompt type: regsvr32 imgadmin.ocx Repeat for: regsvr32 imgedit.ocx regsvr32 imgscan.ocx regsvr32 imgthumb.ocx (Unregistering is regsvr32 imgadmin.ocx /u) 4. Now when you double-click Kodakimg.exe the program should load ok. 5. Finally, change the association of .tif and .tiff files in WinXP Explorer to point to kodakimg.exe.
