reinstall 2000 pro over vista

my pent 3 and 512 ram are lost in the vista software, would like to return to win 2000 pro, i put in the cd and vista will not let me install the pro, and help ?

You have to format the drive first with another program or boot disk. Then you can install your 2000. Just make sure that you have all the mother board drivers before you do it.

You can boot off the W2K CD, during install you can delete/create/format partition....

I don't think that W2K will let the process get that far. MS has a thing about going backwards with their OSes. At least, they think it's backwards. I never thought of Vista as an upgrade from XP or even 2000.

Just download dereks boot and nuke (google it). Burn boot and nuke to a cd. Then boot your rig off that cd. Everything gone ;) gl
