I'm fairly familiar with registry and frequently edit both manually & with cleaners. This issue is new to me.
My soft-firewall (Sygate) is catching outbound transmissions headed for the servers of companies I have done business with but never their loaded software - which means their webpages have succeeded at adding their URLs to my registry.
I've searched the reg and found a bunch of these pests in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\RAS Autodial\Addresses
'RAS' I think of as "remote access server" but not sure if that's the reference/purpose of this key. Further, I cannot figure out why my cleaners (Iolo's System Mechanic, PestPatrol, Tauscan, Spybot, etc.) haven't flushed these - if indeed these key values are the evil I suspect them to be. Some of these key-names have survived many months of frequent, rigorous scans & cleanings.
Anybody know about this key?
Thx, JP

Sorry if I am suggesting the obvious but... Have you tried adaware or spybot or other spyware detection programs, I don't know if they will help but could be worth a try.

Yankele: Thanks, I'll check it later tonight!
Leigh: Yup, those & more. My last paragraph reads
"Further, I cannot figure out why my cleaners (Iolo's System Mechanic, PestPatrol, Tauscan, Spybot, etc.)"and I use lavasoft's lovely ad-aware too.
Thanks to you both for taking the time to answer.
