My son changed the logon password, and now can't remember it (he's 12). I'd like to get the new password. How do I do that? I've downloaded a password cracker, and I have created the 4 boot floppy disks to get into the operating system. But will I be able to get to a point without logging on? Is this all I need?

I won't post how to do this again...
Go to Google and search for Windows 2000 password recovery.
Or send me an email.

I have forgotten my password as well, but I'm luckier than most. My win2K box w/ NTFS still auto logs-on as the Admin. Isn't there a way to go into the registry and either 1.see the password or 2. delete the key to start anew? I've searched all over this site and others but no one seems to have my exact problem.
Thanks

I found the problem...I was attempting to change the password from the users tab and it wouldn't let me. The advanced tab would. Thanks for the heads up.
