A common problem with the functionally lacking FDISK
Use something like TKID

This mate of mine has teased me with the promise of TkID, but I've never been able to find it anywhere. The other option is to boot into DOS, run NTFSDOS and then delete or format the drives.

Use a utility called 'Delpart.exe'. It is capable of removing NTFS and Linux partitions no problem, and is free.

I have a file called killpart.bat (I'll let you do cutting and pasting), the contents of which are:
debug < a:\hdpart.scr
and a debug script file called hdpart.scr, the contents of which are:
a 100 int 13
rax 0301 rbx 0200 f 200 l 200 0 rcx 0001 rdx 0080 p q
and the effect of these two on a boot disk (along with debug, which should already be there) are to completely remove the partition record (on the primary master, I think, but disconnect all other hard drives to be on the safe side) when you type killpart. It gets rid of everything. Then you'd need to fdisk and format. It is dangerous. I've heard of MBRWork for restoring the partition record after this happens, but I haven't tried it... I have also heard good things about Ranish partition manager Have Fun. TM

I suggest going to http://www.fdisk.com/fdisk/ and clicking the link that reads "Free(DOS) Fdisk". This substitute does what you describe, and generally works when the standard fdisk won't. Good luck.
