Without any warning my PC reboots and under Event viewer I get an event that "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck...
The PC reboots very suddenly without any indication or prompting for saving any work etc.
Does anyone know why and what excactly this bugcheck is?

It means your software did something it wasn't supposed to. And since you have Automatically reboot checked under Startup and Recovery (set by default) the thing will automatically reboot when it creates a problem.
So, what you need to do is look in your Event Viewer and see if any errors have been logged. THEN you need to fix whatever is going wrong. Install Service Pack 2 for Windows 2000, update software, update drivers, make sure everything is Windows 2000 compliant, etc...
Also, you can UNcheck that Automatically reboot option and you'll get a blue screen that may, or may not help you fix your problems....
