I tried a game, BattleField 1942 today and it rebooted my win2000 each time when a game is loading.
I tried it several times and got the same result no matter what game I tried to load.
This happens when the loading bar reach around 50%.

Sounds like a hardware driver problem. Make sure you have the latest patches for your sound card, video card, and direct x. You can usually find the latest drivers from the card manufacturers.
