Hi,
This morning when I started my computer I got an error -- boot segment on C missing or damaged. Stuck. I reinstalled Win 2000 by changing the first drive to be read from A to D on the Bios and started up with my Win 2000 CD in drive D. I changed it back to A after I did the re-installation. Now, The CD drive that was D, is E. I have 4 cd rom drives(DVD reader, burner, etc.) They are all there, just have different letters assigned.
Is there a way I can change the letter assignments? Thanks,
Ron

You can change them in Disk Management. Hit help and support and enter disk management if you don't know how to get there.
Golly gee wilerkers everyone! Learn to Internet Search

Just a little addition to wanderer's post. You'll find it easier to assign existing drive letters other letters further down the alphabet. Like make you "g" drive the "L" drive.
That will free up the "normal" letters such as a, b, c, d, e, f and allow you to assign them back to where you want them.
A bit clumsy, but it works.
