Man, I got a wierd one...... I tried fiddling with it, my partner fiddled with it, the tech guys at the helpdesk are helpless and the other techies are stumped so far...

Here is the scenario....

I have a user with a laptop - Dell D600 running win2k pro. Logged into the corporate network and using his H:\ drive as his "My Documents" folder. We configured it to make it available OFFLINE, so therefore it syncs up every time he logs into or out of this laptop on the network. It worked fine, for a while.....

Now, whenever it attempts to sync a LOT of files (but NOT all) fail sync and give an error "Reached the end of the file" and it moves onto the next one. I have found info on this problem with WinXP but NOT 2k on Microsoft's support website. They basically say to install all updates off of their update website... we did, same problem.

I have run several virus tools and nothing found. We have deleted completely the temp files off of the machine and still the problem persists. We have deleted the mapping and deleted the data off of the laptop, moved and resynced it to another dir name on another server with the same data and it still has the same problem. This guy has over 5 gigs worth of stuff on that H: drive (My docs folder) and that shouldn't be a problem as it syncs up only changed files after it's first run-through.

I have fiddled with this for several days - and it is one of those pesky software problems that drives me insane. It ought to work! I have recreated his mappings etc. on another machine and so far it has synced properly - his has not, still.

I have seen this problem also, it is usually caused by the path being to long. We have been able to fix this by shortening the path.
