We require a win 2000 machine to connect to over 26 Dosclient machine, hence i run out of drive letters. Is there a way around this? Can you create directories and make, mappings to the directories instead of drive letters?

You can mount a drive/directory with w2k server but I'm not sure if you can with pro. I'm also not sure if this is restricted to drives in the same machine.
Can't you just add them all to your network places ?

It would be great is dos apps understood UNC which is what is referred to with the path. But odd are they need a specific drive letter.

This is a old problem and there is no solution except to divide the apps between two boxes.
