Comment:

I have a system with win2k installed on scsi drive C: and data’s on scsi drives D and E .
Now I have to up grade the system from scsi to raid controller , I have full system back available with Veritas BE.

What is the best way I can get my system back as it was before with all the software installed available, reconfiguring previously installed software not an option.

Thanks in Advance for all the inputs .

Do you actually have three drives or are these partitions on the same drive?

Procedure is pretty simple. Connect the drive(s) to the new raid controller. Boot the W2K cd via the bios and start install. Hit f6 and add the raid card driver. When you get to the point of new or repair choose repair. Let it complete.

You should not be able to boot W2K off the new raid card. Your data/apps will be intact but you will be at install defaults so you will need to reload all of the service pacs.

"tried repair"? Sounds like you chose the first "repair" which is real quick and does nothing concerning installing the raid card driver.

It is already bootable. You just don't have the correct scsi card driver installed.

Google repair install and follow the directions. You will find my nutshell version only gives you the highlights. Trick here is hitting f6 and adding the raid controller driver.

If you could see your raid volumes you loaded the driver correctly.
