Hello. My quick time won't work - it gives the error message The application or DLL C:WINDOWS\system32\quicktime.qts is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette. Firstly I have no diskette - The ThinkPad is fairly new - I have tried reinstalling Quick time - Has anyone any suggestions. Many Thanks

I've had the same problem. After days of effort and reinstalling etc I tried to go back to QT 5 and then got the same message from it! I've updated my windows as suggested etc etc. I'm stumped and very frustrated.

I uninstalled quicktime. I checked the dir windows/system32 for not deleted quicktime files. I cleaned the registry for quicktime items
Then loaded the standalone version via http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone/
Intalled it and it worked ...
Only an unistall will do also.
It lookes like that the quicktime.qts in the web installation is corrupted. The file is 4 times smaller and misse version information.
