Open up a Dos windows box and type in ipconfig.(START, RUN, type in COMMAND press the Enter key, then type in ipconfig. It will give you the IP address, subnet mask and Gateway.

After you get the ip address in the command prompt type in release. May have to type in: ipconfig release with the space in between them

"Release" switch releases a dynamic ip address from a dhcp server and receives a new one. If you know the netbios name, pinging it will give you the ip address.

then do a grep or find for the ip string also with the all switch you can get all sorts of cool stuff

I would actually know how to input a guy's MAC address and resolve it to an IP address. Is there a UNIX/Linux or Windows app that does this?
