I get win 2000 program errors very frequently. They happen seemingly at random running programs such as crazy browser, windows media player, and other apps. I checked my error log, and it says that Perfnet seems to be the app that's running when I get the errors. What the heck is perfnet? And more importantly, how can I fix this? Thanks in advance.

perfnet is a performance monitoring process that windows 2k runs automatically. to disable it you can use exctrlst.exe, which is in the win 2k resource kit. kill it and see what happens...
