Subject: Probs joining a domain after ghosting
Comment:

I have created an image using Ghost and sysprep with a sysprep.inf file and when the computer is joining the domain I get a message advising "You have entered an invalid password. Would you like to proceed for now and try joining a domain later?" Now this problem is not with the account that I am using as it has full domain admin rights and the password is correct, but more with the PC I am imaging. The system I have taken the image from does not give me this error if I re-apply the image, however all other systems do. Can anyone advise how to get around this problem please. Thanks in advance.

If this is an AD integrated domain you need to create a computer account for the PC (in the domain) either before or during the install...are you doing this?

I've had this problem with ghosting drives, log in as the PCs admin change the PC name if not unique and change the domain to workgroup (same name for both) reboot add the machine to the domain and reboot. I'm sure you can do it easier but thats how I do it.

This is in an AD Domain and the computer account has already been created. I have 22 PC's that I am ghosting a fresh image onto every day and on all but the one system I created the image on I get this problem. I can get around this by logging on locally and adding the machine to the domain, but as this is for a training dept, and the trainers will be the ones who install the image I want to make the process as simple as possible. By using the sysprep.inf it means I don't have to supply any domain admin passwords to the trainers, but if I have to logon and make alterations I will.
