How old are these games? I have 2000 and every game (that say win 95/98) except one runs fine. The only one that will not run is dos based.

There is a way to trick it into thinking you have 98, but I have not had much success with it. There should be a file on your CD called APCOMPAT.exe it allows you to run a program and try to make it work like 89. I have never had this work for me, but might as well try it. Also in the properties of a shortcut there is a compatability tab that you can try.

Also, make sure you download the critical updates, and some of the reccomended updates. There are a few that deal with better support for games as well as a newer version of direct x.

If you are trying to play a game that requires dos there is little chance it will work.

If you have enough hard drive space, you might also consider a dual boot system. Use the partitioner in the Windows 2000 CD and make two partitions. Then instal windows 98 on the first one, and 2000 on the second one. 98 needs to be on the C: drive formatted with fat32. Once this is done you will have the option of booting into 98 and 2000.

Those are about the only options I can think of. Hope this helps!
