OS: Windows 2000 Pro SP3

Comment:

my problem started about 2 weeks ago...everytime my comp boots, a blue-screen with either "stop: kmode_exception_not_handled" or "driver_IRQL_not_less_or_equal" will halt my sys while loading win2k...i hav 2 reboot my comp a few times (with these messages pooping up everytime) b4 win2k gets 2 load normally...

the stop error points 2 a specific file : BOOTVID.dll....
i dunno wat went wrong in the 1st place, cuz i did not install/update any drivers lately...
another important point here is...after trying 2 fix tis problem but failed, i hav destroyed the c:, which is where my win2k resides in...then rebuilt a new partition n setup win2k... question here is: y does the problem stil persists? everything is so clean....

If you get a blue screen 9 out of 10 times it's a driver problem. Thats also here the problem. The irql means a device is using a port and another also wants to use it. Because that aint possible windows turns into blue screen. You can solve it by looking at which one is causing the problem and set your bios to solve it.
